Hi ! I just saw that you commented on my post (through my e-mail ) and the link to reply to it isn't working so im just going to post here. I was born with a cleft lip 16 years ago . I didn't have a palette exactly and they filled a very little hole when I had my first surgery (I was 9 months old!) . I was born in India and ive travelling all over since I was a kid cause of my dad's job. We moved back to India from Royersford, Pennsylvania in 2009 and have been here ever since. I don't think im completely comfortable with myself yet but im trying. I love this blog and you seem like a really strong person! I still have to have like 2 jaw surgeries (by jaw) and lip correction and of corse a nose job. I 've a cleft lip surgery (9 months ) and a one to help my breathing improve when I was 13. It decreased my deviated septum a lot.I'm still not done wiht my orthodontics even though im 16 cause my jaws don't align at all and probably will require orthodontic treatment even after all my surgeries . I get really frustrated a lot cause I always thought i'd we done with all my surgeries after 18 but now I can only hope. My school doesn't really give opportunities to everyone equally especially if they consider you a freak ( me haha) but im hoping to volunteer someplace. Most organisations encourage school clubs but idk if I should start one all the student council members are really bossy and I might not get to honest work. Even if I do , they might make it hard for me. And I really don't want to start hating it. I really want to give back to the cleft community though! And and and this blog is amazing! I wish I would've found this earlier!! Have you ever volunteered? You must be 18 by now? Hows the road been? Are you headed off to college? I put my labrador's picture cause I haven't taken any recent picture of myself :( but thank you! hes adorable! Do you have any pets? I really liked seeing the bulldog! Absolutely adorbs! Theres this student program I found http://www.operationsmile.org/get_involved/student-youth-programs
/conferences-workshops.html but we need to be part of the school club progrsm thing *sigh* idk ill figure something out though I don't really want to go through the school route. Do you have a facebook? Mine is https://www.facebook.com/Shizzle5vamssNizzle110 and skype - snehavinnakota5 :) With love , Sneha
ps. please post more make-up tips! My scar has a tendency to turn red sometimes ! Lol

Fantastic site, unique and helpful. Truly inspiring reading everybody's stories, how they got on in life and what happened to them. You must have a very kind and beautiful heart to support others with cleft lip/palate.

Thank you, I am really hoping that your site might change me as a person since I don't really have anybody to talk to. Living in Nebraska is like living in a dream. I love Nebraska and I think you should really come here and visit. I got that quote off of Pinterest. I don't know who it is by but I say the quote to myself every single day when something goes wrong or when people like to mess with me about my lip. Your pretty cool your self knowing that someone is dealing with the same stuff that I go through each and every day. I hope I talk to you soon (:

Hi Anna!
I only have an incomplete cleft lip in the right side.
I found out your blog while I was doing a school research project about cleft lip. And I liked this web page very much because I didn't know anyone else with cleft lip (only my older sister). This blog helped me a lot with my research project. Thank u for create it, I really like it! I hope we will keep us in contact :)
PD: Sorry for my english.

Thanks. Ive searched for a site like this or just a place where I could talk to other people with cleft palate and never found one until now. I appreciate what you've done by building this site. This site can help a lot of people in so many ways.
